Meet the New CC Nantucket Show House

For the past five summers, my family has vacationed on Nantucket with our extended family—it’s become the highlight of our year!  Nantucket was always a bucket-list destination growing up and into adulthood.  When we finally visited five years ago, it exceeded all expectations and I felt an instant connection - as so many people do (it's hard not to!).

My love for the coast runs deep. Growing up, we spent summers in Avalon, New Jersey, and later, my parents bought a beach house in Long Beach Island, which became a huge memory-making part of my young adult life. It’s that home that inspired Cailíní Coastal and my love for the coastal lifestyle.

The ocean has always been a source of peace and healing for me. After spending a decade living by the sea in Southern California, returning to the Northeast has left me longing for more time by the ocean. Our short trips to Nantucket each summer never felt long enough.

This summer, my husband and I decided to casually begin looking for a place on Nantucket. We weren’t in any rush, or even committed—just exploring. Our trip in September happened to fall during a Nor’easter. Stuck in a hotel room with our daughters, we thought, “Why not visit a few open houses?” Our realtor showed us a listing that had just come on the market that very morning.

We weren’t seriously expecting to find anything, but as soon as we pulled up to the property, we were captivated. Set back on a large, beautifully landscaped lot, the house had a strong presence and wow factor.
(the property we fell in love with)

It is a seven-year-old home formerly owned by a bachelor, and let’s just say it was clear that a bachelor had lived there. Beautiful, but very much a blank canvas—white walls, no colors, no warmth. As a design-lover, the opportunity to transform this space was exciting. It felt like an easy project, with only superficial changes needed to unlock its true potential.

On a whim, we put in an offer, and just two days later, we were on the path to owning the property. It was a whirlwind, but sometimes life happens that way—unexpected, but in perfect timing.  We joke that it happened so quickly and unexpectedly that on inspection day my husband was hoping they'd find something wrong.  Let's just say I was more excited about the prospect of a beach house!

We’ll be spending much of our summers there as a family, and the home will also be available as a rental for part of the season. So, if you’re interested, be sure to keep an eye out for updates!

Since we’re based full-time in Connecticut and can’t always be on Nantucket to manage the project, I’ve enlisted the help of my friend Lynn Morgan and her incredible design team. Lynn and her team collaborated with us on our home in Westport, and it was such a seamless and rewarding experience. She  truly understand my aesthetic and vision, adding her next-level designer touch to create spaces that are not only beautiful but inspiring. This is especially important since our homes also serve as content studios for Cailíní Coastal.

We’re working hard to get the home ready for summer, and I can’t wait to kick off the season in style. Stay tuned as we document the design process and transform this bachelor pad into a stunning CC Beach House over the next few months. We’re so excited to share this journey with you!

Congrats on your summer home. Your company was so accommodating when I had a problem with an order. I also grew up at the Jersey shore and as a young mom with 3 kids we finally purchased a home in my beloved Long Beach Island. It was my dream to have my children spend the summers at the shore. It was the best thing we ever did for our family. You will never regret this purchase. Can’t wait to see your finished product! Enjoy every minute!
