CC ACK Beach House: Kitchen Reveal
When I first walked into our Nantucket beach house, the kitchen felt like a clean slate waiting for its story. The house itself had great bones and beautiful light, but it needed those thoughtful layers that make a space feel lived in and loved. I could immediately picture slow summer mornings here and family dinners that linger a little longer simply because no one wants to leave the table.
Transforming this kitchen became one of my favorite parts of the entire project. I wanted it to feel fresh and coastal but also timeless and calm. Before we dive into the full reveal, I thought it would be fun to look back at where we started. Here are a few of the before pictures.

(Before)
A bright and beautiful starting point with incredible natural light and coastal potential. The space had great bones and a calm palette, giving us the perfect foundation to build on.

We loved that the kitchen opened directly into the dining area. The flow felt natural and welcoming, creating a bright and connected space from the very start.
From the beginning, we knew we wanted the kitchen to feel unfussy, highly functional, and relaxing. Even with its great bones, the space needed thoughtful updates to match the way we envisioned using it. We focused on creating a kitchen that works beautifully for everyday life while still feeling calm and welcoming, with coastal touches that soften the room without ever feeling overdone.

Seeing the finished kitchen come together has been one of my favorite moments in this whole project. The space always had beautiful light, but adding these layers made it feel like home. I loved bringing in the soft blues through the lanterns and window treatments and choosing barstools with a woven texture that instantly warmed up the room. The striped banquette might be my favorite addition because it makes the dining nook feel so cozy and welcoming. These updates transformed the kitchen into a space that feels calm, comfortable, and very us.

The breakfast nook has become one of the happiest spots in the house. I loved the idea of creating a cozy corner where mornings could feel slow and easy, so we brought in a striped banquette that fits perfectly against the windows. The soft blue bistro chairs add a little charm and tie in beautifully with the café curtains. This nook feels like such a natural extension of the kitchen and has quickly become our go-to place for coffee, family breakfasts, and those quiet moments that make time on Nantucket feel so special.

One of the things I love most about this layout is how the kitchen and dining room feel connected yet still have their own moments. From this angle you can see the flow between the two spaces, but the textures and lighting help each area feel distinct. The knot chandelier brings so much personality to the dining room while the soft blues in the kitchen keep everything feeling cohesive. It is open and airy without losing that sense of intimacy we wanted for family meals and gatherings.
Thank you for following along on this first look inside our Nantucket kitchen. I hope it inspires you to create spaces that feel functional, relaxed, and true to the way you live, and I cannot wait to share more rooms from the house soon.
xx Meg
