Home Tour: The NEW CC Show House Reveal

It's official, my family and I are East Coasters...again!  After a combined 28 years of living in Southern California, my husband and I decided to trade the sunshine and mild climate to be closer to our families in the NYC area.
We chose the coastal New England town of Westport, Connecticut to plant our roots.  Over the last 2 months we've been settling into our new home, which also happens to be the photo studio for Cailíní Coastal.  Nearly all of the photos you see on our website and social media channels are taken in my home.
As we've been sharing photos from our new home, we've been receiving a lot of inquiries asking for sources for everything from flooring to paint colors.  In this post we share ALL of the sources.
We're still working on completing several spaces in our home, so we'll call this volume 1... there is more to come!
Now, let's step inside, shall we?

Our home is a semi-custom new build.  We purchased it when it was  framed, which meant we had the ability to customize almost everything.  My husband really wanted a new construction home.  I, on the other hand, was drawn to all of the charming homes that were (literally) hundreds of years old.  While we ended up with a new home, we added lots of design details to make it feel less cookie cutter, more us, and add some character.
We worked with two great designers when building this home.  Shawna Feely - who specializes in working closely with builders and new construction homes - helped us with the fixed design elements like built in cabinetries, flooring and trim work - and Lynn Morgan, who helped us with the finishes like custom window treatments, paint colors, rugs, lighting and furniture.

Runner: Custom by Lynn Morgan Design
Lantern Pendant: Visual Comfort Darlana XL
Floors: Red oak with a Dark Walnut stain
Our home is a mostly traditional floor plan.  Flanking the large two-story foyer is a formal dining room and a formal living room.
We worked with the amazingly talented Lynn Morgan Design - who selected a fabulous blue herringbone custom runner for our staircase and coordinating custom drapes for both the living and dining rooms.
FORMAL DINING & LIVING ROOMS
To create symmetry, we used the same rug - our popular Mermaid Sisal Rug - in both spaces.  Lynn actually took the Mermaid Sisal we sold at the time and added custom blue border.  We loved it so much, that now we offer it only that way!

THE KITCHEN & FAMILY ROOM
Our kitchen opens into an informal dining area and family room.  We live in these spaces and love the openness between them.
We shiplapped the ceiling of the kitchen and dining area and added beams in the family room to create a sense of separation between the spaces.  We added loads of stripes and blues for a nautical feel.

Our family room is the one room in our home that is quite literal coastal design.  We have our best-selling signal flags hanging on the wall and our also best-selling Inlet Stripe Rug

POOL ROOM
Tucked behind our mudroom we have an area we like to refer to as the pool room.  A door leads to the backyard and pool and this is the area in which we have our guests change for swim parties.  There is a bathroom - inspired by California - and lots of storage for towels and sunscreen.

OUTDOOR LIVING SPACE
Coming from many years living in Souther California, a great outdoor living space was an essential!  We built a pool, added a covered seating area, a great barbecue with an outdoor fridge (perfect for hosting!) and a dining space.  Our covered lounge area features a fire place and ceiling heaters so we can enjoy through the chillier months.
We scattered the corners of the space with beautiful pots - a mix of blue and white chinoiserie and terracotta - filled with plants.  For our plants we did a mix of tropical palms, hydrangea and English lavendar.

GUEST SUITES
We have two guest rooms, each with their own ensuite bathroom, which makes it great for our family members who want to stay for an extended period of time.  We've been in this home for 9 weeks and we've hosted family for 6 of those 9 weekends, so these rooms are getting their use!
The two guest rooms are tucked away in the back of the house and have a little vestibule between them.  We added our Pagoda Console accented with all Cailíní Coastal decor.

I call this first guest room our California bedroom.  We had this furniture and art in our former California home and I loved it so much, we kept it almost completely the same.  This room is light and bright, with a casual look and feel.  I kept the bed very simple and neutral with lots of softly textured linen pieces.

Rug: Cardiff Rug
Pillows: Verdin Lapis  and Waves Stripe

Off of the bedroom is my personal favorite bathroom in the house.  This nautical inspired bathroom is really a showstopper!  The real star of this bathroom is our Sanibel Stripe Wallpaper.  It pairs perfectly with our rope wrapped Bimini Sconces

Vanity & Mirror Color: Benjamin Moore Denim Wash
The second guest bedroom is a bit more formal than our California room.  This bedroom features a four postered bed (also by Coastal Living) and coastal touches are brought in with stripe bedding, a rope-wrapped bedside table and blue and white lamp.

Mirroring the more formal esthetic of the bedroom, the bathroom is sophisticated and simplistic.  A mostly neutral palette allows our stunning Marseille Mother of Pearl Mirror and the beautiful thassos & blue marble tiled floor to take center stage.

I hope you enjoyed this first edition of the CC Show House Reveal!  We have loads more to reveal - our mudroom, offices, our daughters' rooms and our primary suite - to name a few!  Keep DM'ing us for sources you want to know and we'll share what we can!
