Start With Art - Cailíní Coastal x Gray Malin

I suspect most of you reading this already know of Gray Malin, but for those of you who don’t, Gray is a world-renowned fine art photographer who came to fame for his, now iconic, aerial coastal landscapes.  Gray has built an international lifestyle brand which, in addition to his art, includes three NY Times bestselling books, home décor and fashion products, a children’s furniture collection, and collaborations with dozens of iconic brands including Disney, Veuve Clicquot, Laduree, AWAY luggage, and the Beverly Hills Hotel, to name a few.

I met Gray 5 years ago, while I was working in PR.  I was a huge fan of his work, and had a complete fan-girl moment when we first met, but Gray was so kind and warm and indulged me as I fired off questions about his career.  He told me how he got his start selling his art at the Melrose flea market in West Hollywood, then One Kings Lane sold his art (which was major for him at the time), and little by little he grew his business to become the empire it is today.  Gray is a wonderful and inspiring example of what you can achieve with a lot of hard work, talent and passion.

We have six pieces of Gray’s art in our home.  You can see a couple of our pieces styled here in my daughters’ nurseries from a past collaboration I did with Gray.  Gray asked if I would be interested in collaborating again for his Start with Art campaign – which is all about designing a space around art. Of course, I said yes!  Art is one of the most transformational accessories in a room and it doesn’t need to be hung on a wall to look amazing.

Check out the Gray Malin blog to see how I styled our new bar cart using Gray’s “Lady in Lilly” print from his Palm Beach collection…and Cailíní Coastal accessories, of course!

I’ve rounded up some of my favorite Gray Malin pieces, including some of the art we have in our own home!

Gray just released a stunning new collection of art from New Zealand and these coastlines are absolutely breathtaking.

Gray’s work from Coral Casino in Santa Barbara (which is one of my husband’s and my favorite places on earth – we got married in Santa Barbara) might be my all-time favorite collection of his.  It’s fun and colorful and I love the vintage beach vibes.

This chic blue and white stripe Capri Outdoor Umbrella is top on my list for our new home!
