Showroom & Trade Manager
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are opening our first showroom and launching a formal trade program — this role is central to both key new initiatives! We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated professional to join the Cailini Coastal team as our Showroom & Trade Manager. This is a dynamic, ownership-driven role spanning three interconnected areas: leading our new Norwalk, Connecticut showroom, owning and growing our trade program, and serving as the dedicated point person for our VIP clientele and escalated customer needs.
Reporting directly to the Founder, you will be a key presence in our trade and physical client-facing business at a pivotal moment of growth. We are a fast-paced, e-commerce-first brand expanding into new channels, and we need someone who thrives with autonomy, takes ownership of their areas, and is genuinely excited to build something that lasts.
This role begins part-time at 20–30 hours per week, with 3–4 days per week in person at our Norwalk, Connecticut showroom and warehouse. For the right candidate, this has a clear path to a full-time position as the business grows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Showroom Management
• Serve as the primary manager of our Norwalk, Connecticut Showroom, overseeing day-to-day operations and creating an exceptional in-person brand experience.
• Open and run the showroom independently, with responsibility to hire and grow the team as demand warrants.
• Maintain showroom presentation, inventory organization, and visual merchandising in alignment with brand standards.
• Build and implement showroom processes, systems and workflows that define how the showroom runs.
• Act as a proactive brand ambassador, engaging walk-in visitors and cultivating relationships that convert to sales.
Trade Program & Client Development
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all trade inquiries, applications, and ongoing trade client relationships.
• Own and grow the Cailini Coastal trade program, developing outreach strategies to attract interior designers, architects, and luxury home professionals.
• Deliver a white-glove, high-touch service experience that meets the expectations of a discerning clientele.
• Identify and pursue new business development opportunities within the trade and luxury home sector.
• Track trade pipeline, maintain accurate records, and report on program performance and growth.
VIP Clientele & Customer Escalations
• Serve as the dedicated point person for high-value customers, delivering personalized, proactive outreach and service.
• Build and nurture relationships with our VIP clientele through thoughtful communication, exclusive touchpoints, and tailored attention.
• Act as the escalation point for the customer service team on complex or high-priority issues that fall outside standard resolution protocols.
• Resolve escalated situations with professionalism, empathy, and solutions-oriented mindset.
• Collaborate with the customer service team to identify recurring issues and surface insights that improve the broader customer experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in luxury retail, interior design, trade sales, or a related field within the home furnishings or lifestyle space.
• Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional, high-touch customer service to a discerning clientele with elevated expectations.
• Prior experience working with the trade (interior designers, architects, and/or luxury home professionals).
• Highly self-motivated and solutions-driven; someone who thrives with autonomy and takes genuine ownership of their work.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and navigate nuanced client situations with grace.
• Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented — comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• A genuine connection to the coastal lifestyle aesthetic and an eye for elevated, livable design.
STRUCTURE & COMPENSATION:
• Part-time, 15 - 20 hours per week to start, with a clear pathway to full-time as the role and team expand.
• 3 - 4 days per week in person in Norwalk, CT. This is a fully in-office role.
• $24 - $28 per hour; based on experience.
• Growth opportunity: this is a ground-floor position on a scaling team. The right person will grow with this role – expanded responsibilities, title and compensation to match.
