Director/VP of Operations

We are seeking a highly motivated Director/VP of Operations to lead our operational strategy and execution. This role is critical to supporting our growth, including optimizing logistics and building scalable processes across warehouse operations, fulfillment, direct import and vendor management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee all warehouse and logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, dropship, and white-glove furniture delivery. Develops goals, strategies, and initiatives, as well as sets KPIs for warehouse.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor warehouse staff, internal operations team, and customer service team, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and efficiency. 
  • Systems & Process Optimization: Implement and manage operational systems (beyond Shopify), evaluating and introducing WMS solutions as needed.
  • Logistics Strategy: Identify cost savings opportunities and develop scalable processes for shipping, dropship, and white-glove delivery.
  • Direct Import Management: Oversee the growing direct import side of the business, including negotiating competitive shipping rates, developing container strategy, and ensuring cost-efficient, timely delivery of goods.
  • 3PL Roadmap: Evaluate and advise on potential 3PL integration, considering business complexities and product mix.
  • Vendor & Purchasing Support: Oversee order placement and vendor management, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the leadership team to align operations with broader business goals and strategic growth.
  • Brick-and-Mortar: Plays a key role in the integration of our warehouse and our first brick and mortar store (Darien, CT) into a single operation.
  • Scalability: Prepare the business to handle peak volume periods (ex: Q4 holiday season) and continued year-over-year growth.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 8+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain management in e-commerce, ideally in the home industry.
  • Proven track record of scaling operations for a growing business.
  • Experience managing warehouse teams and implementing systems (WMS/ERP).
  • Strong strategic thinking paired with hands-on problem-solving.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Highly preferred this candidate is able to commute to our Norwalk, Connecticut warehouse/office 2–3 days per week.
