CC: First, how did you ladies meet and become friends?
ST & MB: We are sisters! aka, built in besties.

CC:  You really are the dynamic duo when it comes to creating gorgeous tablescapes!  How did get into tablescaping together?
ST & MB: We started tablescaping during March of 2020 since we were in each other's "quarantine bubble" and had a partnership with Fifty Flowers. We created a centerpiece with their flowers and a tablescape to go along with it. We called it "escaping through tablescaping" since we were stuck at home then. It became a more regular thing and eventually a weekly feature that we both post about!

CC: Let's start with the basics.  When it comes to table setting, what pieces are  essential to creating a special table?
ST & MB: We love layering! I think placemats add a nice depth and dimension to the place setting and a fun napkin always makes it feel a bit more thoughtful.
CC: What inspires your tablescapes?
ST & MB: We find inspiration everywhere. Flowers, traveling to new places and old favorites, photographs of decades past, beautiful interiors, the list goes on!

CC: Once you have your inspiration, where do you begin in your design process?
ST & MB: There's usually a "hero piece" of the table; whether that is the tablecloth, dishes, placemats or glassware. Once we've defined what that is, we typically design everything else around that piece to make it all flow.

CC: When it comes to selecting china, silverware, and glassware, what are your tips?  Do you have staples you like to reuse?
ST & MB: You can't go wrong with a classic white set of china. Mix and match fun salad plates or napkins on top to bring in a different pattern. Since we're Florida girls, we use wrapped glassware and bamboo flatware year round as an ode to our coastal living. They both play well with all kinds of settings - fancy or casual!

CC: It can get costly investing in all of these pieces.  Any tips for how to change the look without breaking the bank?
ST & MB: Start with the basics and add to your collection over time. Your centerpiece can instantly change the look of your table, too. Shop in your own home for vases or things that can double as a floral vessel.

CC: What are some easy ways to make a table feel special?
ST & MB: I always love the addition of a place card. Even if your table is set for 6 or 8 people, I think it shows that you've gone the extra step to take the pressure off your guests for where to sit. Also- candlelight creates the coziest ambiance.

Any other tips for hosting you'd like to share?
ST & MB: Set your table the night before you host.

Sarah & Molly's CC Favorites:
These placemats have worked their way into so many of our tablescapes because they're so versatile.
This piece is a true show stopper!
This glassware is perfect for everyday, yet elevated and the extra detail of the lattice twine sleeve makes sure they won't get lost on your tablescape, but stand out.
This is an easy way to dress up your table without breaking the bank.
The weight of this flatware and feel of the faux ivory handle is luxurious!
